Meet Dasher, Orphan #5 🐒

Little Dasher was found alone, just a week old, with no mum in sight—presumed lost to a tragic road accident. Despite such a difficult start, he was the sweetest little one, loving nothing more than his milk and cozy naps. 🍼💤

As he grew, Dasher’s playful and adventurous spirit truly blossomed. 🌿 He loved exploring the world around him, but never missed a moment of quiet time to observe. When his buddy Rudi moved to join the Goliath troop, Dasher took over the super important job of keeping the food plates nice and clean! 🍽️

Dasher soon moved in with mums Kara and Karla in the Koko troop, and after some health bumps along the way (for both him and his buddy Snowy), he was finally ready for release into the troop. For a while, things seemed to be going great—he was thriving in his new home. 🌳💚

Sadly, a few weeks later, Dasher started showing signs of being unwell. Despite all our efforts and critical one-on-one care, he passed away. It was later determinated that a hidden injury which took place in troop caused a rupture in a blood vessel, leading to internal bleeding, and unfortunately, there was nothing more we could do. 💔

We pour all of our care and love into preparing the orphans for the world in nature, but sometimes, as hard as we try, tragedies like this can happen. Nature can be unpredictable, and despite our best efforts, not everything is within our control. 🌿

While we’re heartbroken, we are thankful that Dasher had the chance to experience life in a troop full of love and care. He had a mum and monkeys who adored him, and we’ll always hold him close in our hearts. 🌟💕

Rest in peace, sweet Dasher. You’ll never be forgotten. 🕊️❤️
